Posted by Cole Miller on 10/20/03 at 06:17 PM perception is reality. this is a great way of showing just how relative reality is. |
Posted by Mara Meade on 10/20/03 at 06:43 PM Ah...how things change when we use different lenses, eh? Loved this one, Ashok. Amen! |

Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/24/03 at 12:33 AM Ah, to have a poet stop, observe, use his wordmeasure on such an astounding creature is not only great fun, but in your inimitable manner, profound. |

Posted by Rula Shin on 03/18/04 at 10:27 PM The senses cannot be trusted...this is one reason why realities are relative - because sense is relative. If I am to learn or understand the 'truth' purely by sight then I will conclude that the sun is the size of my thumb and the world is flat...what if I were to look through the eye of a telescope? Or the eye of a distant satellite? Or the eye of God? Is there ANY end to relativity or are the planes of perspective infinite? Will I ever truly SEE or will it be SEEING on one plane and LOOKING on a different plane? Am I missing the intended meaning of this poem? No. It's all relative hahahahaha - I Love this Ashok :-) |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 08/08/04 at 01:56 AM Seems you are stressing that looking and "seeing" are not necessarily the same thing! Chanllenging thought! |
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 11/11/05 at 08:26 AM Two hairs in my cup of milk is too much. Two hairs on my head is too less. Relativity. Congrats on POTD!

Posted by Laura Doom on 11/11/05 at 03:01 PM It's said that, one day, ants may rule the world - but will they measure up to the task? Whatever, I have few relatives, but a comparatively large number of them are Ants, though they would not beseen that way...at least whilst looking through the other end of Rula's telescope :)
As good a POTD as can be subjectively measured - seriously entertaining stuff Ashok
I measured myself recently and, despite not being a Man 'man', was surprised to learn that I am five and a half ants tall, when viewed through Ashok's perspectoscope... |
Posted by Michelle Angelini on 11/12/05 at 03:50 AM Ashok, Congratulations on POTD! I can't believe I didn't comment on this, as I thought for sure that I did. I'm not one who usually observes ants, but maybe I should, just the way I do bees.
