Limbo Day

by Glenn Currier

The flush of well-groomed productivity
now cast off, a limbo day,
its vanilla fatigue
leeched into my bones
for my dreams to scavenge.

But here I sit
in this day's demise…
the urgings of a poet arise
and flicker
with midnight closing in.

Author's Note: Dedicated to my poet friend Lavonuna Carrington who encouraged me to write.

Well, it proved to be productive at the end of the day. The contrast of the demise and arise sounds cyclic, like 'moods'.

This poem is like looking through a window at night and suddenly the stars appear. The tone and texture in your words superbly crafted to roam the poetic mind and invent a new and exciting universe. Oh, the magnitude! Peace...

Yes.... what Jadi said.... but I notice, too, that it is usually toward the evening, when things are still and the shadows are darker and peaceful, that I write. Like everything from the day is swept into this time and the words come...finally. Absolutely beautiful. And Lavonuna... thank you, too. I hole each of you in high regard.

"hold", not hole. Sheesh, that just messed up the karma, didn't it?

Congrats on POTD... *smiling* I think I read this earlier, and commented wondering where the comment went about friends and poetry how they seem to go hand in hand....

Creative look at the ending hours of a day. Definitely a mood piece, a bit melancholy, wistful. Congratulations on POTD!
