laughter echoes

by Michele Schottelkorb

laughter echoes
madness abounds
(peer within the little glen)

wishing to sleep forever,
the woman-child squints
beyond the sun-filled sky
to find the moon
(a ray of shelter from the storm)

as the laughter echoes
and the madness abounds
