Black Hole Antichrist

by Max Bouillet

"I have been called an antichrist by those that have never read the bible."

Antichrists are bent-light
warped by a collapsed Son.
Twisted glimmers
who sell God in tiny packets
of artificial sweetener
to desperate mouths
whose tongues crave the divine
and are frustrated to find
that God
is merely smoke
that is dispersed
by the very hands
that grasp for Him.

Eagerly, the wet lips
and probing tongues
devour the antichrist's
sugar coated crosses
until their stomachs
distend, their teeth
fall out
and they become useless.
Easily placated by fluttering scriptures
plucked out of Holy context
by the antichrist's
sweet-toothed
lies.

collapsed Son sugar coated crosses they become useless. Easily placated What a searing indictment of organized religion. "Sweet 'n' LO" is right on!

While the descripion may be a little extraBiblical it certainly is in keeping with the antiChrist's intent--to deceive! St. John indicated there are many antichrists, even were in his day. Of course, there is the ultimate AntiChrist who evidently is yet to be revealed. A very thought provoking poem. Not for the meek and mild in faith!

As Quentin said, thought provoking Max. Certainly one way of looking at it.

There's a fine line between those that really preach the word and those that preach their own word. Although I wouldn't go as far as to call all of them anti-Christ, you remind us that there are far too many out there who are unfortunately ignorant about what it all really means. A especally provocative poem, to be pondered deeply.

pardon me for cursing, but... holy fxck. this.. is.. inCREDIBle. it reminds me of a work of mine called, "even the whores..." i wrote it awhile back for exactly this purpose. it is amazing what the misinformed and unenlightened minds can come up with. and even more amazing what the rebuttle can be.

This is absolutely beautiful and wonderfully written. I can't think of a single thing wrong with it. I especially like the 1st stanza. And I do not think you are attacking the religion, I think you are criticizing the deception of religion. Again, well-done.

Indeed the deception of many who twist the truth to their own means is one of the most potent tools of any "antichrist." You capture that whole process very well in this with some very evocative and thought provoking imagery and phrasings. Well done Max.
