Life is nothing to the Moment

by Lacy D Phillips

Life is nothing to the Moment;
the Moment is nothing in the Life

Try to arrest,
try to attest to
ONE moment
and you’ll know
what it is
to live
a life (for a time)
characterized
by futility.
All words can be
...l o s t...
in an image.
All images
...f o u n d...
devoid of meaning.
Just like me
in this moment
where I fail,
where I feel
my failure;
and this life pales
in comparison
to THIS

Author's Note:
This is an experiment.
I'm asking you to fill in the blank at the end of this poem, actually write down what's in your mind right now!

Capture the Moment!

hazy lyrics to a Queen song as the bottom layer, on top of that; a conglomerate of planning elements of my wedding this fall. that was right before & after the poem. a momentary blankness at your blank line (ah panic test question!, hehee). so there you have it :)

Mountain of cardboard boxes, waiting to be filled with the treasures I've accumulated in a life-time, to be moved to my new dwelling.
