Dust into Rust by Adrian CalhounI came here chasing dreams, in search of greater things. Never stopping to enjoy the view, charging the mountains at full speed. A brand new life awaited me. I reached the summit, but only in vain. I was left as the fallow field. Not once did I let the rain touch my face, or allow the suns vibrant hues to warm me. The road owned my soul. My dreams were as dust following the plows. Sitting idle now, in the overgrown weeds, slowly turning to rust. 05/22/2003

| Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 06/01/03 at 07:39 PM Poem so well expresses the phiolosophy that it is the 'trip' not the destination that matters. You also cogently and symbolicly picture the consequences of such a philosophy (at least taken to the extreme). |

compounds available. One good one is active use.

| Posted by Michelle Calhoun on 10/05/03 at 08:20 PM Oh, to be a VW in your backyard. How does your wife feel about all of this? LOL If only every old VW could find their way to you they would be in a heaven of TLC and restoration. Good but all too true! |
| Posted by Michelle Angelini on 05/02/07 at 04:24 AM Adrian, I think at one point all of us were young and eager and chasing some kind of dream. Some dreams are persistent, chasing us, instead of the other way around, until we turn and notice. Not all of them rust. Yet isn't it weird that the dreams that turn to dust are the ones we remember the most, huh? Congratulations on POTD!
