Molten Marble

by Glenn Currier

New Page 1

The April blush of redbud
and juicy  green of elm
–
smear  of Monet and young hope
leaning eastward with Bois D'Arc
searching the landscape
of our imaginations
for our first home.

Warm summer days
of making love
exploring crevices and curves
mining our minds
sorting our feelings.

Carpet worn by years
of my footfalls on hers
cleaning clothes
fixing dinners
serving visitors.

The everydayness
of our  love
–
molten marble strands
separating, entwining
never cooling quite enough to set...

Author's Note: Last night my wife and I watched the romantic movie, Bridges of Madison County. Later we lay in bed shared our images of our 33 year marriage. The above is part of what came out in that sweet moment of intimacy.

*big melty sigh* I try to pretend I don't go in for this stuff, so don't tell Jason, but yum. There's something so sweet about seeing this dedication and this joy.

'never cooling quite enough to set...', well, it will never if the associations are positive, umpteen and intense. The repetition keeps them reinforced which in turn keeps them active and alive.

very nice!! "Everydayness of love" a notion I find hard to comprehend

Loved the title and was very pleased with the message here. A vivid and touching tribute to the continuing relationship so well depicted by these "molten marble strands."

Simply beautiful Glenn...like one of those whatchamacallits, the glass thingys that you shake and snow falls over buildings.
