Hesitate

by Sarah Brookes

Floundering on the precipice

indecision

dare you eat a peach?

Trickling juices down lustful throats
ravage flesh, torn asunder,
or rot as virginfruit
decay
untouched?

Satisfy rabid carnal needs or
abstain from selfish deeds

I’m
two-minded – let me eat/keep
my peach.
