Daughter Of Zion

by Melissa Arel

cover me

clothe my skin with linen
my body with purity
adorn my hair with braided gold
strings of pearl and ruby
sapphire and amethyst
soft as silk and flowing long

my feet belted with sandals
and my soles softened with oils
spices, herbs and frankincense
dripping from my palms

milk and honey under my tongue
creamy, smooth and sweet

with a glowing copper hue
I lift my face and give alms
to my Lord and my Lover.

Ah yes..i recall this well! we discussed its similarity to verse from the Song of Solomon. A superior poem...sensual in its way..and awesome in its delivery

Reminiscent of some Old Testament works and an excellent reflection of your own spiritual feelings. Quite beautiful.

Aesthetically spiritual.
