Illigitimi non carborundum

by Glenn Currier

Flatten me one more time

and see how I can climb

out of this trampled state.

Forget my forlorn fateĀ—

after the pathetic fall

I'm back you bastards, standin tall.

Author's Note: Illigitimi non carborundum... an old Latin phrase I often use in moments of exhasperation... "Don't let the bastards grind you down."

Perseverience in the face of adversity. Reminds me of Admiral Farragut's "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead." Great positive energy here, Glenn. Peace...

Oooh this reminds me of "the handmaid's tale" which is one of my all time favourites...I think the phrase is slightly different, but yes. And, honey, you will keep going, despite the bastards, because you're a hip guy. :)
