Maybe I

by Christopher Shin

We live a life full of twists
and turns as we struggle each minute.
We are mixture of tragedy and joy.
A paradox if I could say anything
about it.

If I could take away something
inside my mind it would be
the cowardice I face each day.
Maybe if I could have the courage
to bear my soul to you.

As I look down for I can not stare
at my reflection for long.
As sense of shame crosses my mind.
My eyes lock on the words
that fill my mind.

Words of how you amazed me when
I was totally lost in your eyes.
Maybe you could make me a man.
Or maybe you could make
me age till I am a bitter old man.

Either way maybe I changed my life,
because you told me to with
a simple smile and the twinkle of
blue in your eyes.
