Oblivion: Hold the Date

by D. Xavier Bari

On the tenth day
of the fifth month
of the seventh year
of the third millenium
of our Lord:-

The dead will walk.
The godless shall feed
upon one another.
The faithless shall flee
to a nowhere destination.
One will rise from the depths
with formless hell-beasts
at either of His feet,
dripping death from their maw.

There will be no refuge.
The houses of the pious
long ago turned to brothels
where sin bathes in hypocrisy.
The tithes given to protect
shall have wrought nothing
but the disappointing truth
of empty blessings.

The end of everything
deserv'd by all who contributed;
deserv'd by all who stood idly;
deserv'd by all who tried
to prevent the inevitable.

Oblivion cares not.

I got that sizzling, clear, and concise mental picture right off the front burner, Dante. Don't call me, I'll call you. Great title too. Peace...

Well there's a cheery poem, Dante. LOL! I just hope for mankind's sake this doesn't become a reality. :o)

That's so eerie and foreboding. Probably quite an accurate picture as we witness the work of entropy and analyze Revelations. Nicely done.

I am afraid...I am very afraid...the truth does that sometimes, huh? Thanks for your honesty.
