Inside The Lovely Dance

by Ken Harnisch

I could not leave; I am your addiction

As I am bound to you by words unsaid

In any public place, yet the conviction

Is in my eyes, a book you’ve often read

By candlelight in our secret, timeless world

Where we spoke our love in poetry

(When you flipped the many pages, then curled

The best that touched your heart, for they were me).

In such a tome we wrote posterity

Though fate, in its fickleness, had other plans

Still, we never vanish, but seemingly

Go on and on, inside the lovely dance

Where love cannot always be advertised

For what it is, this wonder we’ve devised

Beautifly bittersweet.... timeless, are but a few words that come to mind. Your poetry always touches deep places in the heart.

Oh Ken, I always look to you to warm my cold winter days. Your poetry reads well to warm me better than soup. hehehe ;)

Absolutely beautiful! Makes me want to go kiss my fiance, asleep in the other room.

I just wanted to say once more how beautifly bittersweet this is... and how lovely is the dance
