Three Little Words (The Sorrenti Challenge)

by Ken Harnisch

If I haven’t

Told you lately

How much you

Mean to me

Then the fault,

My love, is

Mine. I awaken

To your morning

And live basking

In your sun.

I keep your

Soul with me,

Aflame; your heart

Is the potion

Keeping mine alive

And those nights

When I’m away.

Ensconced in wastelands

Called grand hotels

And on islands

Likened unto Paradise

The only heaven

I find is

When we speak

Softly, by telephone,

While the mad

World passes by.

Alone, weary, tired,

You are my

Elixir. Depressed, annoyed

Despairing, you are

My redeeming angel.

You wash the

Weariness of life

From my bones

And keep me

Going. And though

Storms may assail

Us, and life

Batter us with

Rain, never, ever

Doubt this darling,

As long as

We shall live:

I love you

I always have

I always will

*Bravo*... very well written! It could melt any heart, even one of stone.
