Motivation

by Ginette T Belle

I lost it.
I never even tried to save it
as it rolled effortlessly and quietly through the silver grass

I lost it.
Slipping through my fingers beneath the black earth
drowning in my malt beer
screaming in my vodka

I lost it.
But that doesn't mean it won't return

I like the off the wall abstract nature of this poem, Ginette. Fine work! Witty closure!

No it surely does not! Very uplifting and hopeful - in defiance of the initial "drowning" and "screaming" and vision of "black earth". Nicely done Ginette! :-)

Love the directness of this quandry. I especially like the frankness of "I never even tried to save it." Excellent!

I really enjoyed the listing of "how it got lost", and that you would admit not even trying to save it, but have that optimistic last line gives us all hope, I think. Thanks! Nice POTD.

Contgratulations one POTD! Short but well said. We lose so many things in life and don't know what we had until we ask where it went. Life can be that way. Nice read.
