Angels by Charles E MinshallYesterday I woke up, And thought that I was dead, There was an Angel there beside me Sleeping in my bed.
I thought that I had reached The end of my life, Then I discovered The Angel was my wife.
This morning I woke up With an Angel in my bed, But I'm a hundred miles from home, My wife will shoot me dead.
I know not how it happened All I know is this, With an Angel beside me Life is truly bliss.
I don't know where tomorrow That I am gonna be, Probably down with the devil, If my wife catches me.

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 12/21/02 at 01:24 PM With a little adjusting, this could turn out to be the finest tribute to wifehood there ever was. Otherwise, it's definitely humorous, even a little riske. Kudos chum! |
| Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 12/21/02 at 11:45 PM Like laughing when one sees someone suddenly trips and falls; the ending does bring laughter. But the laughter would be short lived in reality. (This is what I call your 'warped sense of humor' kind of poem). LOL! *winks* |

| Posted by Anne Engelen on 01/02/03 at 12:47 AM OMG...here I thought how sweet a poem, wonderful tribute to one's wife and then it completely turned against her...and comes this "I'm-only- male-kinda-behaviour" peeking to finish of this poem! Somehow I'm not even that surprised anymore.
Great one as always!! |
