The Way I See It by Anne Engelen
All I saw was this hurting soul
Crying out to be loved
All I gave was unconditional love
To console her soul
Great was the disappointment
When I found out she lied
But that didnt change
the feelings shed been denied
I needed time to realize
What was going on
And all I saw was a young girl
Afraid to be alone
The way she chose to get her dose
Of undivided attention
Wasnt what you or I would have done
But remember shes still young
All I see is this girl
Who made a big mistake
Who now has to pick up her life again
And can no longer fake
How foolish I felt for caring so much
For someone I thought I knew
But all I know the feelings were real
And from her side unconditional too
I owe it to her to give her a chance
To regain the trust she lost
She didnt make it easy on herself
And therefor I wish her luck
Being responsible for ones actions
Is part of growing up!

Posted by Mara Meade on 12/11/02 at 08:11 PM Anne, this is beautiful. You speak from the soul here... and I'm reminded of the passage in I Corinthians about Love... "Love is patient, love is kind ...it keeps no record of wrongs." We should all be more like this. |
