The Way I See It

by Anne Engelen

All I saw was this hurting soul

Crying out to be loved

All I gave was unconditional love

To console her soul

Great was the disappointment

When I found out she lied

But that didn’t change

the feelings she’d been denied

I needed time to realize

What was going on

And all I saw was a young girl

Afraid to be alone

The way she chose to get her dose

Of undivided attention

Wasn’t what you or I would have done

But remember she’s still young

All I see is this girl

Who made a big mistake

Who now has to pick up her life again

And can no longer fake

How foolish I felt for caring so much

For someone I thought I knew

But all I know the feelings were real

And from her side unconditional too

I owe it to her to give her a chance

To regain the trust she lost

She didn’t make it easy on herself

And therefor I wish her luck

Being responsible for one’s actions

Is part of growing up!

*Very Big Hug*... I think... your right! and that this just proves that your feelings are indeed true.

life is here to teach, to give if we are here to listen, with far reaching arms.

Anne, this is beautiful. You speak from the soul here... and I'm reminded of the passage in I Corinthians about Love... "Love is patient, love is kind ...it keeps no record of wrongs." We should all be more like this.

An excellent expression of "unconditional" love and of forgiveness and understanding. Speaks volumes about you.

We all deserve a second chance. Let's hope then that the W.C. Fields born in this entity called Kim realizes that a sucker isn't born every minute.

So positive. So objective.
