That Bridal Hour

by Melissa Arel

'With this ring I wed thee'
Those sacred words dripping from holy lips
As saintly palms touch
With Heaven's most deepest kiss
Two hearts become as one flesh
Vowing in blood and water
Bonded by a ring of gold
Expectant of that bridal hour
As they draw life from each others' spirit
Proving Love is both beautiful and fair
Nostalgia gives their souls wings of flight
And God sighs as He watches them there
So just as the sun desires the moon
In its angelic celestial orb
So will you, in blissful retreat
Cherish each other all the more

One hopes the first steps of their journey can be as beautiful as the words written on their behalf...
