caught in a photograph

by Andrew S Adams

for that 1/60th of a second
that was then and there
the moments preceding and thereafter
are lost, and we dont care
why was that photograph
taken at that point
why do we smile, fake a laugh
when we'll look back
and know it was a lie?

you take a snapshot of moments
you would like to save forever
but of all the moments, why save the poses
that otherwise wouldnt matter?

and why the hell do we say cheese?

A perfect ending to an in-depth look at posing for captured moments in time!

the ending just wraps up what you really feel about having pictures taken. however, i kinda like being photographed. lol. =)

Oooh, I hate being photographed. I think it's the moments between the photographs that really count. I think that taking pictures is important b/c it reminds us of those moments in btw. that were special to us. And I wanna know why we say cheese, too. Why not something else..... like cheddar? lol.

A still truth? Or a Still lie? Love the ending, haha - why do we though? I know I don't because I never have my photo taken. Anyway, brilliant work, something I can relate to. I'm always stuck in the past, my poems usually reflect that. why do we smile, fake a laugh when we'll look back and know it was a lie? - Favourite few lines. People are so fake, and finally you deemed the truth.

haha, that's a great way to put it... i don't mind having my photograph taken, but it does seem kinda pointless... and why do we say cheese??;)
