Paperboat (I cheer for the rain) by Rommel CruzDark clouds race to cover the sun.
Singing birds swift home to their nests.
Giants weep with their withered leaves.
Lightning writhes, and then thunder screams.
But I cheer. The rain has begun!
Little feet scuttles out of my room.
Clapping hands strip the shirt I've on.
Small eyes whisk a sheet of paper.
Boat's made, laying on a puddle.
And I cheer. My boat braves the storm!
11/10/2002 Author's Note: I just took a trip down memory lane and remembered how I enjoyed paper boats. =) I also had a very hard time writing the second stanza. Im sure you can see the result of that difficulty. My apologies.
