Stormy Weather

by Charles E Minshall

Dark raging storm clouds
Roil over cities and farms,
Reaching down to the earth
With bright flashing arms.

The violent storm clouds
All need to exist,
But oh how they smite
With each lightning bolt fist.

When our weather was drier
And our forests on fire,
We prayed for the rains to come.

Now the water's up
To our decks and floor,
The water's up
To our necks and more.

Now that it's wetter
We find it no better,
But we dare not pray for sun.

Better put those golf clubs away I guess. Oh what a tale you tell in so few words, Charlie. Peace...

Excellent portrayl of a thunder storm! I can almost hear that thunder. And definitely see in my mind's eye the roiling thunder clouds. Great writing Charlie.

Your poetry clears away the cobwebs and numbness of the day with its clarity, simplicity, and refreshing rhyme. I like the images too. Good one, my friend!
