Born in the wrong house by Anne EngelenA sudden flash
Went through the room
A spider I thought
My evenings doomed
Spider hunts
I hate them so
Where the heck to
did it go?
Recovering
from the first scare
Bravely
I started to stare
In every corner
Every place
But from the spider
There was no trace
Slowly
Regaining my breath
Still planning
A spiders death
Another flash
Another scare
Of silvery grey
A curious glare
From two little eyes
of a tiny mouse
who obviously was
born in the wrong house
It took just one glance
to know
this mouse had not a chance
Soon my living room
Became the Killing Fields
For a mouse born in the wrong house
I set up a trap
My God
What a curious little chap
While I fixed the cheese
He touched my hand sniffing
Geeeeezzzz
Acting not so smart
Is how he won my heart
Courageous indeed
Baby mice are kinda sweet
Counting on its curiosity
I was able to catch him easily
He ran between my hands
Where he started to dance
Tickling me with his soft fur
And all the time
My lazy cat did purr
From her safe place on the chair
Looking down on me
with a certain flair
