Envoy to Our Souls by Glenn CurrierHe hesitates the second
it takes to choose between
answering a message
or his child?s daddycall.
He closes the door lest the light
invade his lover?s sleep
while he sorts code,
visioning the page.
Switches on the fan
to stir the oxygen
and awaken his brain
addled by hours
in the blue florescence.
Gathers comrades
around the pentium fire
sparking their desire
to travel with him a while.
Walks his fields
contains his ire
at ether-phantoms
invading this space
made sacred by the souls
who sow stars there.
This ordinary man
with extraordinary hand
plucks the electric web
playing symphonies there.
If we co-creators be,
what part plays he
in the desert of our days
empting our demons
finding our angels
breaching the boundaries
of our universe!?
