An invitation to death I

by Rommel Cruz

Death, come to me gently as I sleep
Like pleasant dreams of memories passed
And cherished love forever in my keep

Death, come to me gently as I sleep
Like a soft bed of leaves amassed
And cool breeze that cuts me deep

Death, come to me gently as I sleep

Author's Note: As you can see/read, I just want a peaceful death. No accidents, illness whatever =)

Umm... I found it also tranquil, a soft invitation, not to an ending but the beginning of a step along a different road. Perhaps because to me death is not an ending but the start of a whole new journy. I loved the note at the end! lol... no accidents indeed.

The repetition really kept the poem together.. almost like a lullaby but, not quite :) Great job, my friend..

A beautiful and peaceful poem. Comforting, almost makes death seem like a long-await old friend. Nice writing. Rommel.
