STAND

by Melissa Arel

When you've given your all and theres nothing left to give,
When you've lived this life and theres nothing left to live,
When you draw from your well and get nothing but sand,
Hold your head up high, square your shoulders, and just stand.

When your bed is floating from the flood of all your tears,
When your hopes give way to the high mountains of fear,
When your dreams have all died and you need a holding hand,
Dust off your knees, pray down your pride, and simply stand.

When your faith has run dry and you don't know what to do,
When you feel all alone and theres no one to rescue you,
When you've been mistreated and lost your trust in man,
Turn your eyes to the Father, wait patiently, and stand.
