Notifying the Dead by Glenn CurrierAre the sprinkling of redbuds in the gloomy limbs the aborning spring? Is this the last slate sky of winter, begrudging its departure, lest it free me from the confines of my inner walls? Or is a resurrection hidden among the rotting leaves revealing itself in the few shoots courageous enough to notify the dead of their awakening? 03/31/2002 Posted on 03/31/2002 Copyright © 2025 Glenn Currier

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 09/04/06 at 04:06 AM When the redbud blooms here - they are magnificent! To see them begin to "sprinkle" a limb is such a great description. I like how this is written in question form - that wondering as we transition from season to season, or from life to death back to life. Many nice layers here. |
