April Eve

by Charles E Minshall

____________________________

Candy canes
And Christmas trees,
Popcorn strings
And Christmas wreaths.

Packages dressed
In bright ribbon clothes,
Turkeys in the oven,
A delight to the nose.

Conversation and laughter,
Fill rooms with their din.
Though it's only April,
Lets do it again.

Yes...it is just as enjoyable in March as I am sure it is every month of the year! :) Good job again Charlie! ~Mel~

ah, the nostalgia of that long stretch between holidays

It is coincidental that tonight my daughter's family is having Christmas with her in-laws because they couldn't get together this year in Dec. because of snow and severe weather. Cheerful read anytime of year.

I've never really been a fan of "happy" poetry, but i suppose this is delightful for what it sets out to do.
