FREE, FREE AT LAST by Charles E Minshall
The incarcerated ten
must soon be released.
They have done nothing
to deserve the despicable
punishment imposed upon them.
A punishment that possibly
will leave a lasting impression
on some, if not all of them.
Their dank internment
is an unjust travesty,
one I find hard to tolerate.
Society is the root cause
of their miserable imprisonment.
The time is finally at hand.
Time for their long overdue release.
I shall, to right the wrongs
thrust upon them,
personally see to their
complete immediate freedom.
Damnable tight shoes anyway.

BWAH HAH HAH! This is diplomacy in action! Besides, you gave me the line "Tight Shoes," a metaphor I was needing for my own poem of the same name. Charlie, I owe ya at least as many laughs and thoughts as you've given me! |
