i'm here capturing moments both in time and in mind, that's the baseline theme. i have been writing poetry for close to 10 years now, since i was a kid scribbling in note books, writing song lyrics, a novel in my college years, and in grade school i wrote plays.
it was pretty bad to be quite honest.
But since about 2001 with my SLAM book, Catastrophe God, i have been putting annual collections of poetry together, and each has had a theme purely related to the events, dreams, and philosophies I was into during each yearly period.
now, i feel i have found a focus and purpose culminating in a project that encompasses movie, art, short stories, and poetry; much if it is in the folder The Vignette Marionettes. It is under the moniker, [g]eppetto
[G]estapo. You can check out the music at myspace.com/geppettogestapo. I have also completed a new short collection of poetry loosely based off of geppetto gestapo called Tales from Beyond the Galactic Fog.
My style revolves around an image or a small event which is described in words. do not try and find a linear progression to ideas and themes in my work, but try to imagine each picture individually, relate it to the whole, and when they all coalesce, it is there you find the meaning or the picture i had in my mind when i wrote it. but as with everything, nothing is so black and white, thus each poem is a culmination of stream of consciousness, somewhat verbose, rhythmic representations of a moment of inspiration, whether that be a song, a film, or memory.
