I like her music and her message. Her wise words hold water for me and maybe for those who will listen and fill their cup with our Father's Love....I have great admiration for this young lady and artist musician and activist. Her bold words to the Catholic pope were awesome and spot on![contained in the link above].We support artists and musicians...and there are many...so we support those we relate to the most...Hope some of ya"ll here can join us this summer at Floydfest 2014 to hear her and Ziggy Marley....as well as JJ Gray and Mofro and many other dynamic musicians. The above link takes you specifically to "Lauryn Hill on Religion" and would not allow an embed. The below embed contains her whole "Lauryn Hill MTV Unplugged Complete Live Acoustic" which includes the above video and her music.
beautiful imperfect young Lauryn, I applaud you....XO

Rocks
01/09/2014 12:03 a.m.

ROCKS are one of my many passions.I especially love this beautiful geode,a gift from my daughter, who, likewise, is a rock hound too. :) My Art School college minor was in ceramics, which required many classes in geology and minerals and chemistry and glaze and clay body formulation....some folks have the misconception that art school was easy.

Happy New Year 2014!

Enjoy the jam:
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!Celebrating? After years of being New Year's Eve homebodies in quiet somber celebration,we are celebrating it big time this year at The Orange Peel in Downtown Asheville NC. Railroad Earth is going to tear it up tonight, tried and true just like they always do. Its a sold out show and I have an extra ticket because my daughter has to work the Stoney Knob Cafe tonight and could not get off work. But she did join us last night and we had a blast.{RRE is doing a 3 night run}.Whether you celebrate or not,I wish all a blessed and safe upcoming trip around the sun, this year
2014
Love,
Melanie

Shot Gun Willie(originally by Willie Nelson)
....these guys are some of my new teachers....we even had the privilege to jam with them one late night(using my backpacker twanger-wasn't hard playing along with basic chords)....I began my new quest with simple, up close observation...that's why I like the rail so much.

Trip # 60
12/27/2013 06:29 p.m.
I am writing but not posting because it is in very raw form and it is more like notes to myself of my poetical fleeting thoughts. The other reason my work is not being posted is because we have been too busy these days with travel and family. We are also pursuing our music interests on a higher level and it has been dominating our time.My brother gave me a fiddle for my birthday and we have also acquired a banjo and mandolin and are learning to play these instruments....I seem to be gravitating to the mandolin....love it.....I also want to live life while I can still get around...heading up to Asheville tomorrow to spend time with our daughter and we are celebrating New Year Eve in a big way.And so begins my 60th trip around the sun.......
