Been chillin at Sycamore Resort near Southern Pines.It is way out in the countryside and I love it(except for when the farmers are fertilizing their fields with chicken manure and the wind is blowing a certain direction,lol).It is about an hour NE of Charlotte. We energize and recharge our bodies and creativity here. It provides a place where we ride bikes,swim and boat(canoes,kyaks and peddleboats). We enjoy our grandchildren visiting us here. And socially,We are friendly but don't really fit in with the people. Yet, the people (especially the regulars that camp here)seem attracted to us.I listen to all their stories....it is like a little RV Peyton Place(comprised of many retirees, vets and ex-druggies and not there yet recovering druggies and folks with disabilities).....even so, I like the people.....as long as they don't try to get too friendly(because we enjoy our privacy). We play(practice)our instruments and I suppose that has brought attention to us and also we befriended one of the head employees who has helped us with some small stuff regarding RV maintenance from time to time.Its a gossipy place of which I am cautious of.Last night was a Lulu though, when he came to fix our windshield wiper and brought along another female employee to meet who had a side line business in "ROMANTIC PLEASURES" and thought I might be interested. I laughed. I understand certain situations where they may be "needed" but count my blessings that we don't have need of such devices and products.Thank you God for my wonderful husband and health!Anyway,it is our "down" time between festival time. We will be here in between festivals during the spring and summer.I can't wait for the next one in a few weeks near Charlotte called DrumStrong, a Cancer Fundraiser featuring Railroad Earth on Saturday.There will be family fun and lots of arts and crafts. RRE currently on break except for this event and we hopefully will have opportunity to socialize (again) with some of the members and crew that we have come to know. Well, I know for sure we will with the production crew and usually John,Andy,Andrew and sometimes Tim come for awhile(and Todd and Carey rarely).They are so fun in the psychodelic world of jamgrass.Even tho they do bluegrass, they are not bluegrass...hard to classify them.....ah, and then its Maryland bound to attend Delfest and all 3 late nighters with some of the best bands performing.....

This festival raises money to help support cancer victims.Railroad Earth is the headliner all three days. Camping is free. It will be held May 16, 17, 18 at Misty Meadows Farm in Weddington NC [which is just a few miles southeast of Charlotte]. We are definately attending.

Been having too much fun to write or post anything lately.....currently on a rv trip to the Asheboro Zoo and Sycamore Lodge and hanging with our grandkids...who have been excellent in good behavior and fun....they are home schooled and I have been the teacher the past few days including an electric golf cart field trip into the woods of the sandhills (nature science) I have finally found my internal tranquility... Wade and I are heading out on our bikes...Seagrove is not far...have a good day folks :)

We'll be there this coming August! [again]

I don't take vitamins.I take sunshine instead.And I drink the fresh air.I am not on any medications of any kind[and rarely drink alcohol]....and I have to say, it is cheaper focusing on eating healthy fresh foods and going to aerobic dancing festivals and music venues.....but the beauty of our country (or use to be)is that we can choose how to spend our money as we see fit with regard to our health. Music that we like produces natural highs and energizes.Unfortunately, I know those that attend these festivals that drink too much and even though they may be 20 years younger, they look my age or older! Think about it. [We make our own choices and live with the effects of those choices]

April will be more Railroad Earth....Charlotte, Atlanta....intermixed with live couch concerts we are unable to attend in person. We thank God everyday, BTW, and always. XO

Well, I tried to get some pics with my granddaughter a few days ago...started out good but then she saw my desk draw..... I hope to do some with RJ too but haven't had the right moment where he will cooperate....lol

You go Majesty Rose! Well, I couldn't hold back any more....and I am not normally drawn into American Idol.....but this gal is a young 21 year old teacher from my hometown in Goldsboro, NC! I am cheering for her! Very talented....just as some of my former co-workers were that sang at many of our school functions.Speaking of work....I have a job interview today for an art instructor at Michael's Arts and Crafts... think it will be ok for an ole retiree like me....which officially happens this December at which time I will qualify to start receiving my lifetime meager monthly retirement checks...I have "0" interest in going back to work full time in the state public school system. I will pick up substitute teaching in the fall of this year. We have festivals we will squeeze in in the meantime....and we are really enjoying our lives to the fullest....we are heading to Red Rocks Colorado in August and then I will have to take a pee test for the sub job in the fall...not worried about it but I find the issue has become very annoying....but if I choose to recreate while out there, I will also be clean by pee time...so not worried.......every RV trip we have ever taken, we have been profiled and pulled over by state police for no reasons other than a manufactured following to close....each time we let them search with no grounds for it....each time released with a warning ticket.
