Friday 13 shake up
04/13/2007 06:44 p.m.
I'll be working on this one a while...

Year Two Thousand Seven
April (Four) oh please enable
Friday (oh no!) One Three

The morning Charity went into labor
I topped the hill onto the plane
and gasped at a sudden wreck
of a nameless, unknown neighbor
Gripped by fierce tears in fervent prayer
--- Angels, are you with me?
--- Angels! Are you there?!?
on my blithely tripping daily trek
In the crisp air the dust still churned
the tires were still spinning
as I drove up to the awful scene
a sedan in the median overturned
gone is my happy equanimity
in a sudden chilling calamity

hot and furious my eyes now burned
Jesus help!

Signs and wonders
03/29/2007 02:06 p.m.
Ha! I had an official "wonder" this morning...
Must admit I had my sign a few days ago, yet again on 49, yet traveling home from work. There was a nice, very nice looking recliner set up and leaning against the simpson county line sign facing southeast. I chuckled quite alot at that. Made me consider how we humans want to sit back and recline when God gives us a sign. Of course it was gone the next day, but it gave me some great laughs. It was a very nice looking recliner, lazy boy I think.
Now this morning's wonder...it surely made me wonder.

I'm sitting at the red light in Florence, first in line to see how fast I can race to I 20, to make up the time I lost dithering behind officer poke-along
(There is a sadist Highway Patrolman on 49 now, he barely travels 65 mph in the mornings, so I take my life in my hands when I pass him, but I do!)
and I've been at the light for about 30 seconds when all of a sudden the back end of my car lifts up about 6 inches and my car starts creeping forward at which time I hit the brakes harder than I do when Jarrod's driving. Then the rear end drops back down. I look back in my rearview and it's not the car behind me, he didn't slam into me when I wasn't looking. Nothing, no reason at all that I can see for my car to have done that.
So, I have this interesting conversation with myself... that progresses into questioning the presence of my rear ending wonder.
So.... are you in the car with me now?
Or... do you just hang out at that particular redlight?
Do you fly above me, or sit on the hood of my car?
Do you even have wings?
Or do you just look like men?
Are you in the backseat?
or beside me on the front seat?
I want so much to see you! If you don't mind doing that to my car... then I would like to see you with my physical eyes...
please?

Shevat: Day 1
02/01/2007 07:04 p.m.
Under His Wing: The Year of Clashing Swords!

These are critical times that require us to think differently. At the end of the Feast of Tabernacles, the Lord visited me and asked many questions. Any time the Lord wants us to think differently, He asks a question and waits for our answer. This is how critical thinking works.

Here is a list of questions for you to meditate on before the Lord that will cause you to think differently in days ahead. This prayer focus will cause your faith to go to the next dimension. May you enlarge your way of thinking and increase your faith in 2007. Meditate and give Him an answer to the following.

28 Days to Transform Your Thinking for the Year Ahead!

Day 1: Read Proverbs 3. Lean not on your own understanding. Ask the Lord for your "strategy of giving" this year. Ask Him to fill your storehouses.

Proverbs 3 (The Message)
The Message (MSG)

Proverbs 3
Don't Assume You Know It All
1-2 Good friend, don't forget all I've taught you; take to heart my commands.
They'll help you live a long, long time,
a long life lived full and well.

3-4 Don't lose your grip on Love and Loyalty.
Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart.
Earn a reputation for living well
in God's eyes and the eyes of the people.

5-12 Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don't try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he's the one who will keep you on track.
Don't assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
your wine vats will brim over.
But don't, dear friend, resent God's discipline;
don't sulk under his loving correction.
It's the child he loves that God corrects;
a father's delight is behind all this.
The Very Tree of Life
13-18 You're blessed when you meet Lady Wisdom,
when you make friends with Madame Insight.
She's worth far more than money in the bank;
her friendship is better than a big salary.
Her value exceeds all the trappings of wealth;
nothing you could wish for holds a candle to her.
With one hand she gives long life,
with the other she confers recognition.
Her manner is beautiful,
her life wonderfully complete.
She's the very Tree of Life to those who embrace her.
Hold her tight—and be blessed!

19-20 With Lady Wisdom, God formed Earth;
with Madame Insight, he raised Heaven.
They knew when to signal rivers and springs to the surface,
and dew to descend from the night skies.
Never Walk Away
21-26 Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life;
don't for a minute lose sight of them.
They'll keep your soul alive and well,
they'll keep you fit and attractive.
You'll travel safely,
you'll neither tire nor trip.
You'll take afternoon naps without a worry,
you'll enjoy a good night's sleep.
No need to panic over alarms or surprises,
or predictions that doomsday's just around the corner,
Because God will be right there with you;
he'll keep you safe and sound.

27-29 Never walk away from someone who deserves help;
your hand is God's hand for that person.
Don't tell your neighbor "Maybe some other time"
or "Try me tomorrow"
when the money's right there in your pocket.
Don't figure ways of taking advantage of your neighbor
when he's sitting there trusting and unsuspecting.

30-32 Don't walk around with a chip on your shoulder,
always spoiling for a fight.
Don't try to be like those who shoulder their way through life.
Why be a bully?
"Why not?" you say. Because God can't stand twisted souls.
It's the straightforward who get his respect.

33-35 God's curse blights the house of the wicked,
but he blesses the home of the righteous.
He gives proud skeptics a cold shoulder,
but if you're down on your luck, he's right there to help.
Wise living gets rewarded with honor;
stupid living gets the booby prize.

If you're feeling a little blue, here's a pick-me-up
12/26/2006 12:07 p.m.
(From the Elijah List mailings)
WHO HE IS:

Jesus is altogether lovely; He saves us; and He keeps us by His power from sin and death.

He has given to us His robe of righteousness. He extends His mercy, longsuffering, lovingkindness, tenderness, healing, and compassion.

He is our Shield, our Defender, our Rock, and our Hiding Place.

He is our Provider, Counselor, Great Shepherd, our Friend, who is closer than a brother, and He is our Love. He is the Husbandman, the Keeper of the vineyard. He is the Source of all blessing.

He restores, rescues, forgives and redeems.

He is our Victor, the Captain of Hosts, Mighty in battle. He is our Banner, and our Standard, and He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Jesus is crowned with glory and honor; He is our Savior, Sanctifier, Redeemer, and the merciful and faithful High Priest.

He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He was dead, but now He is ALIVE forevermore, and He is seated at the right hand of God--it is finished!

He destroyed death and He led captivity captive.

He is the Great Apostle of our faith; He is the Supreme Sacrifice; and the spotless and blameless Lamb.

He is our Anchor and our Strong Tower, and He was the Ancient of Days before the first day began.

He is the Forerunner, the Firstborn among many brethren. He is the surety of a better testament; He comes from the unchangeable priesthood; and He is able to save to the uttermost.

His Presence doesn't cast any shadow because He is the Light that lights the Heavenly City. He is the Light of the world and the Giver of life.

He is the Door, the Way, and the Truth.

He is the Treasure, the Pearl of great price, and more precious than the finest gold.

He was the Rock of Ages before any mountain peaks were formed.

He was the Bread of life before there was any grain. He was the Lily of the Valley before there were any flowers on the earth.

He is the Eternal Intercessor. He is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, higher than the Heavens; He makes His enemies His footstool, and laughs at His adversaries.

He is the Tree of life; He is consecrated forever, and makes us sanctified forever by His precious blood.

He is the Minister of the Sanctuary, and He is the Mediator of the New covenant.

He is the High Priest of GOOD THINGS to come; He's the Lion of Judah; and the Lamb that was slain. He is the New and living way.

He was born contrary to the laws of birth. He lived contrary to the laws of life. He healed contrary to the laws of medicine.

He was tried and condemned contrary to the laws of justice, and He arose contrary to the laws of death and the grave.

He ascended contrary to the laws of gravity, and He is coming back again contrary to the expectation of the world!

He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the Great Shepherd of ALL THE SHEEP.

HE IS THE HOLDER OF THE KEYS; HE IS THE AMEN; AND HE IS THE FINAL WORD...

He is qualified to open the Book, and He is the expression of the Heart of the Father.

His love has no limits; His grace has no measure; His power has no boundaries known unto men; and out of His infinite riches, He gives and gives and gives again.

He is our nearest Kinsman, and is qualified to redeem us.

He is THE WORD MADE FLESH and the Honey in the rock.

He is high and lifted up; He is the bright and morning star, and the fairest of 10,000.

He is more precious than gold, and He's the glory and lifter of our heads.

He is the righteous Judge; He is a refuge for the oppressed; and He doesn't forget the cry of the humble.

He bore our sorrows and our grief; He was despised and rejected of men; and now He controls the destiny of the nations--the kingdoms of this world are going to become the Kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and forever.

He is our portion and our inheritance; His garments smell of sweet myrrh; and His breath is as sweet apples. He is a very present help in trouble.

He hides us under the shadow His Wings and keeps us as the apple of His eye.

He is our High Tower, and He makes the hills shake, the mountains melt, and the Heavens bow.

He pulled back the curtain of eternity and stepped out on the stage of time for one brief moment, and then stepped back again into eternity, but in that one brief moment of time, He sealed the fate of every man and woman and fixed their destiny.

He is the bright Candle in the darkness because He is the Light of life.

He is the Branch and the Root of Jesse.

HE IS THE GREAT WAVE MAKER FROM GALILEE.

He makes the crooked paths straight and the rough places plain.

He split history and divided the ages.

He is the greatest Teacher the world has ever known, and He is the Baptizer in the Holy Ghost.

He preserves the faithful, and He is the resurrection and the life.

He spoke and framed the world; He makes our way perfect and makes our feet like hinds feet; and He causes us to walk in high places. He is able to comfort, guide, and bless.

He spoke, and the Heavens unrolled themselves, and the galaxies were born. He spoke, and the streams and the rivers wound their way across the earth. The rose began to blush, and the violets cast their fragrance, and the birds began to sing. Colors wove themselves into a rainbow. He spoke, and a handful of dust became a living soul.

He turns our mourning into dancing and girds us with gladness.

Let me tell you about His voice--His voice is powerful upon the waters, full of majesty, like thunder, it breaks the cedars, divides the flames, shakes the wilderness, makes the hinds to calve, discovers the forests, and sets the mountains in their place.

His voice stilled the seas and shook the earth and melted the hills.

His voice is as the sound of many waters; He spoke and calmed the storm; He spoke and gave life to the dead, brought healing to the sick, strength to the weak, and forgiveness to the sinner.

Herod could not kill Him. The Pharisees could not confound Him, and satan could not trick Him. Sickness could not withstand Him; devils could not stay near Him; and the waves could not drown Him.

The rabble could not disturb Him; death could not corrupt Him; hell could not keep Him; and the grave could not contain Him!

Gravitation could not restrain Him, and God has highly exalted Him and given Him a Name above every name, and at His Name every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord of all.

He gave gifts to men; He brought a stream out of a rock, and fed the people in the wilderness; He fed 5000 with two loaves and a few fishes.

He is Savior to the lost, healing to the sick; He is hearing to the deaf, and sight to the blind. He is cleansing to the leper and strength to the weak. He is comfort to the oppressed, hope to the hopeless, and help to the helpless. He is a brother to the friendless, and a friend to the brotherless, and He is LIFE to the dead.

He is infinite, eternal, glorious and full of majesty.

One day in His courts is better than a thousand; wouldn't you rather be a doorkeeper in His house than dwell in the tents of the world...?

He is the covenant Keeper--keeping covenant with covenant breakers.

He is sweeter than all the flowers; He is the lover of our soul; and the keeper of our hearts.

He is music to the poet, and a song to the worshiper. His Name has been whispered by thousands upon thousands of dying soldiers on the battlefields of the ages.

His Name has been the battle cry of those who fought for righteousness and truth.

HE IS THE KING OF ALL KINGS AND EVERY NATION WILL BOW TO HIM....

HIS NAME IS JESUS.

Love in Jesus,

4242
12/17/2006 04:20 p.m.
When I logged on:
To date your poetry has received a sum of 4,242 reads.

You started this day right for me, Yeshua, with your chuckling ways... 42...42 reads on my 42nd birthday. Thank you for my first reminder of being loved and the day of my birth remembered in a special way. May this day the remainder of my years be stuffed with ways I can show you just how much I love and appreciate all that you've done for me.
I thank you for your beautiful soldier David. His ruddy complexion reminds of the scriptures describing King David. My soul chuckles listening to his soldiering tales of how he and his battle buddies are already tested by anti war conflicts. He's earned that beret and I am honored to know and learn to respect the hearts pledged to die if neccesary to defend and protect us, even within our own boundaries when neccesary. I thank you, Captain of the Angel Armies, for a country worth fighting for.

We are all undoubtedly delirious. Upon discovery all her khakis are dirty (due no doubt to Logan being sick last night) she rants and rails and prepares her argument for da boss... you just don't know, lucky i even come in... the brother says, well just go naked. yeah. right. if you ever see me going anywhere naked, you know it's time to incarcerate me. Not right in the head and needful of restraint. "great way to get fired..." brother says, "you never know, you might get a raise".. uh huh...
we're all delirious....
"oh mama, you've got to see the neon lights I got for the carlo tonight, it's so gorgeous" (my first thought is oh no, how long before you burn up the alternator again, like when you hooked up that stupid amp...)
"ummm son, there are certain lights that will get you a ticket - lest we forget you've not gotten your new tag -- you're now expired 9 days!"
so, i ask, do teenage male children EVER grow up?
...tired... so tired.... stupid stupid dogs barking AAAALLLLL night long... again... so... when jarrod woke me up getting ready to go to work at 5:00, there was little chance of muting the STUPID DOGS barking... a BB gun would come in so handy around 2 or 3 am.... or a wrist rocket... it's great incentive to practice markmanship...

Alive
11/20/2006 07:02 p.m.
My meditation for the week and it's off to an interesting start! Sitting in my car I decided to read this passage again for deeper faith to receive the answer from God at Paul's request (Meditation)EPHESIANS 1:15-19That's why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the followers of Jesus, I couldn't stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I'd think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength! THE MESSAGE

and the Holy Spirit had this to say:

1 What's God going to say to my questions? I'm braced for the worst. I'll climb to the lookout tower and scan the horizon.
I'll wait to see what God says,
how he'll answer my complaint.

Full of Self, but Soul-Empty
2-3And then God answered: "Write this.
Write what you see.
Write it out in big block letters
so that it can be read on the run.
This vision-message is a witness
pointing to what's coming.
It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!
And it doesn't lie.
If it seems slow in coming, wait.
It's on its way. It will come right on time.

4"Look at that man, bloated by self-importance—
full of himself but soul-empty.
But the person in right standing before God
through loyal and steady believing
is fully alive, really alive.

I love Holler Days
11/17/2006 03:27 a.m.
Da boss brought gumbo! Missus boss brought Poppy, the company mascot and reigning stealer of attention and time from company pursuits. When you consider it fully, it should be understood that you can't bring a puppy, a yorkie puppy to work and expect women to ignore it. It's not humanly possible. Especially when you dress him in the cutest little full body parka. I think I might have verged on offending missus boss with my extended laughter. Couldn't help it. When I heard the peals of laughter ringing loudly down the hall from Glenda's office, I knew I was vindicated. No sooner than Missus boss left her office than she was on the I/C whispering her aghast apologies giving me an opportunity to relay mine. If a ninja had stood with sword at my throat threatening my next breath, I'd have finished my last gust through an opened bubbling esophagus. Glenda too. It was such a kodak moment and no kodak in sight. I've got to start being better prepared for these little pearls. Key lime cake for dessert came walking in the door from Mrs. Bernice and to my groan of surrender was informed "It's the holler days!" Yeah, right, Glenda. Today I holler thank you, next week I holler, "I can't fit my clothes, ya huzzy! It's all y'all's fault! You made me eat all this holler day food."
I do hope Ken cooks deer sausage tomorrow though. Oh my. I'm going to eat my way through the holler days it would appear.
