Who will it be
06/01/2007 11:26 p.m.
for poetry commenter #444?
Whoever it is...
I'll go check out their library extensively just because it will be a cool number.
333 was cool too.

Trapped in her dust
breathing in their must
this flesh harboring wicked be

surrounding her, surrounded
pounding heart, soon pounded
until stilled
by stony hearts as weighed in sin as hers
cast for death

how many before her had found no escape?
Rahab did. Not just an adulteress, but a heathen selling
the pleasure her body could give
Did her family start selling her?
So they could eat?
She may have been one of the luckier ones
their religions regularly sacrificed children
Father God sacrificed His only son too
He became, in His son, the monster we thought him to be
requiring awful death of a beloved
So we could become partakers of the goodness He really is

It's beyond my human comprehension.
I just can't wrap my mind around it all.
But I believe He is true. And I believe He is good.

a little less than the mores I'd write
If I were a theologian
a little more than the lessons so trite
If I weren't a woman
a little less than a man
and more than mere amour...

Lessons on less than I've learned
and spurned...
many times burned
a little less than
pages unturned

Two-snake day
06/01/2007 01:54 a.m.
One dead in the road 1/2 mile from where I work... BIG un
One freshly killed by a friendly neighbor... in the road right in front of my house... got to watch him load it into the back of his pickup for what reason I have no earthly idea! late night snack?
I love my seldom solitude.
I never knew how refreshing, I'd forgotten what it's like to be able to do whatever I want to with no interruptions.
Awesome.
Big D, I hope you understand.
I am wallowing in the beauty of quietude.
I'm sure I'll eventually get tired of it.
Just hasn't happened yet.
Loved Rusty's journal entry, heheeee..

This is just a little too weird. Gotta journal it, so I'll remember just how weird
Yesterday, I itched all day. I couldn't figure out why, no new soap, no new detergent, no new moisturizer, nothing. No reason I could figure. Got really infuriated about it on the way home and right before bed.
This morning around 9:00 megan calls, she's taking Jarrod to the Dr.
Poison Ivy.
They went camping this weekend (I figure that includes popping a few tops and apparently not paying close attention to your environment, lol) and now he has it really bad. Taking him to get a shot.
Didn't dawn on me til 10:30 or so... I'd only thought about it once early this morning grateful it had gone away in the night...
Now that's just too weird. I know we're supposed to be close to our children, but hey! I can live without suffering his poison ivy with him!
I am a unique copy of an ancient gift/design. Interesting. I receive that.

Can't believe it! *Grinning hugely*
05/30/2007 12:13 a.m.
I've been laughing and stomping and clapping...
The coincidences are just too hilarious...
The children of armageddon start out with "logan" his sister "megan" brother "tyler"... just too funny! Megan almost named Logan, Logan Tyler but went with Taylor... Thanks to Joseph Serna's tattoo poem, my curiousity about Terry Brook's latest book was stirred up and when I went to his site and saw the new armageddon series (with freebies online to read) I was sucked in... Doggone! Gotta hit the book store tomorrow now, for sure! I can't wait! Wait til I tell megan! Her dad got me started in these darn books right after we got married (ahem, the first time) and to have a series with some major characters named after them is just too kewl....
I'm just such a sucker for his books...
Him and Terry Goodkind
Well, I won't be online much for a while until I get these devoured... lololol...
I can't wait!

First time
05/28/2007 02:03 a.m.
for everything..
unlike oysters on the half shell I don't expect this to be a slimy disappointment.
Sent in the allowed three entries for the seasonal contest to the new writer's group I was invited to join. Really suprised me. You get real actual (intensely scrutinized) critiques.... The moderator is brilliant at critiquing and some of his insights could be intimidating if I wasn't going into it with the perspective of knowing I'm totally uneducated in this and have EVERYTHING to learn. I've got to spend more time there soaking it up.
My first official "real" entry into a contest.... It was an exciting first for me!
woooohoooo
Dixie put a little blurb in the-leg blog about the poem I wrote in honor of "the-leg"! Ha! She's so sweet... Thanx Dixie!

Got a good tool, gotta build a good shed for it..
Got a big tank to fuel a good tool...

Jazz Fest - Norah Jones
04/27/2007 05:45 p.m.
I'm so excited! I didn't even realize it was Jazz Fest, only that while I was outside the wind shouted "New Orleans"... because it's been whispering it since last weekend but I wouldn't. My determination gave in... Even BEFORE Glenda, said oh yeah, and Jazz Fest is this weekend and when we pulled up the info, Behold, Norah Jones on the Chantilly stage tomorrow night. It was a done deal. Oil change, quick wash and we're off...
I CAN'T WAIT!! WOOOHOOOOOOOO http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/Nora.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/uslisteningtonora.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/usundertheleg.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/thebrightenedleg.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/mylegtatt.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/Alegmantattooing.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/thelegbanner.jpg Chip is such a sneak! http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/mmmmmmmylove.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/listeningrestinundertheleg.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/dafroglover/lituponesplanade.jpg
