Red Fridays
06/22/2007 01:16 a.m.
From now on til our troops come home. Will they ever? I mean will there ever be a time when they're not serving somewhere around the world. I did find a red shirt I'd forgotten I had. I will proudly wear it tomorrow and remember to pray for the families of those who have lost their sons or daughters. I was so touched to receive this:

If the Red shirt idea is new to you, read on to the end...
Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not put two and two together.
After we boarded our flight, I turned to the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (across from me), and inquired if he was heading home.
No, he responded.
Heading out I asked?
No. I'm escorting a soldier home.
Going to pick him up?
No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Iraq ; I'm taking him home to his family.
The realization of what he had been asked to do hit me like a punch to the gut. It was an honor for him. He told me that, although he didn't know the soldier, he had delivered the news of his passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he knew them after many conversations in so few days.
I turned back to him, extended my hand, and said, Thank you. Thank you for doing what you do so my family and I can do what we do.
Upon landing in Chicago the pilot stopped short of the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we have had the honor of having Sergeant Steeley of the United States Marine Corps join us on this flight. He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family.
I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign."
Without a sound, all went as requested. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his action made me realize that I am proud to be an American.
So here's a public Thank You to our military Men and Women for what you do so we can live the way we do.
Red Fridays.
Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record-breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.
Many Americans, like you, me, and all our friends simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops.
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something red.
By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.
The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is. "We need your support and your prayers." Let's get the word out an d lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something red every Friday.
IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON.
IF YOU COULDN'T CARE LESS -- THEN HIT THE DELETE BUTTON
In the words of President Teddy Roosevelt, "We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people
God bless and best regards,

Maternal Rejoicing!
Underling sighs, incisors
in size for
Sooooon gone
and I know the whys
But...

I awoke on the roof today
two wisdom's chews removal
bloody palatte healing the pain of decay
Tired but elated
she's sedated
thoroughly medicated
I awoke on the roof today
where wisdom chooses
to enter views
lost in wisdom chews
and interviews
of the gone
while they yet stay

Two interviews
one of an early sort
story made fine
-boss is running out of time-
in arrogance blind
to make his soon loss ok
bottom line redefined

cutting her losses
cutting out pain filled tosses
and turns of the night
I awoke on the roof
expected sure gaff today
a building held in sway
a business behind us
to ever remind us

to wisdom choose

and awaken on the roof today

In a strangely strong and proud way, I'm quite proud that my love isn't pathetic enough to fit in with a pathetic community (ewwww... what will they think, what will they say?!?) phooey. He is a confronter and if his heart is touched to make an action, after prayer and sleeping on it, he will do it, no matter the consequence. Especially just after a care to remember Memorial day and Father's day on the near horizon. Would that there were more like him in this world of political correctness and fill-in-the-blank-but-don't-rock-no-boats.
I love you Chip White.

You ARE my hero!
I am proud of you. I think the Father of father's is too. I know you acted in a definitely , not-like-you manner, sometimes it's just good to follow your heart, even if it's swimming upstream like a salmon against current and various other species of fish.

orificial
06/13/2007 06:15 p.m.
heheee...
kewl word

After Laura's hard day at the orifice i had to go look it up, lol.

She inspired me:

dangling orificial offals
writhing her neck
in sinuous spackle
undoubtedly sanguine
each offal at least 3 parrots in size

...sigh.. well, time to get back to earning my nickel
guy in a red pickemup cracked me up...
zipping down the road
intermittently beeping the horn
no reason i could see
wasn't close behind some JUST MARRIED
and when he sped on by, wrecklessly
both hands off the wheel
and happy to be praising!
too kewl

Toooooo funny.
He was not impressed when I read to him what I was reading when he walked in there to tell me his dreams. arrrrrggggh... I am one of kc's sunshine band after all. heheee
I wish he could draw a picture of the sabre tooth "kitty" *giggle* he was playing with... and of course, a picture of the "prophetic engraver" showing up for our appointment.
I know you'll be on here reading my journal entry, to see what's going on in my day, baby...
I LOVE YOU!

Has declared her birthday wish:

Corey Smith
The bottling Company
July 15
9:00 -

It will be a flourishing finish to my vacation week, I'm sure. I have to admit I like most of the songs on the cd she's been playing.

I MUST see how I can purchase a wave file of his song, Cherokee Rose

It is beautiful. Speaks to my heart and soul. He's a local boy it seems.

Tips for driving
06/09/2007 10:48 p.m.
in Jackson:

DRIVING IN JACKSON

If your Jackson map is more than a few weeks old, throw it out and buy a new one. If you're in Madison or Pearl and your map is one day old, then it is already obsolete.

Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Jackson has its own version of traffic rules.

All directions start with "Get on State Street" which has no beginning and no end. Everything in Jackson is "just off State."

The morning rush hour is from 6 to 10. The evening rush hour is from 3 to 7. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday morning.

If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed out and possibly shot.

When you are the first one on the starting line, count to five when the light turns green before going to avoid crashing with all the drivers running the red light in cross-traffic.

Darting back and forth from one lane to another with no signal is considered reckless driving in most other cities, but it is business as usual in Jackson.

Stop signs are considered "suggestions" only and "yield" signs are ignored altogether.

Travel on I-220 is only recommended for the brave and daring or those who figure they have nothing to live for anyway.

Construction on I-20 is a way of life and a permanent form of entertainment.

All unexpected or strange sights are explained by the phrase, "Oh, we're in Madison."

If someone actually has a turn signal on, it is probably a factory defect.

All old ladies with blue hair in Mercedes have the right of way. PERIOD.

The Traffic Circle near the Jackson-Evers Airport is not for the faint of heart.

I-55 North near the Waterworks Curve in rush hour is the Jackson equivalent of NASCAR. Just shut up and drive like the rest of us.

If asking directions around West Jackson, you better be armed.

The minimum acceptable speed on I-55 South, heading north from Crystal Springs, Terry, and Byram is 85 until you reach the Savannah Street exit where the speed drops to 20 MPH or to a dead stop.

If it's 100 degrees, Thanksgiving must be next weekend.

If it's 10 degrees and snowing, everything comes to a screeching halt.

If it's rained 6 inches in the last hour, and it is spring, it's opening day for the Braves.

If it is fall, the Mississippi State Fair is going on, a cold snap is expected.

All amusement parks, stadiums, arenas, race tracks, airports, etc., are conveniently located as far away from EVERYTHING as possible, so as to allow for ample parking on grassy areas.

With these simple rules in mind, you are now ready to drive in Jackson.

Please try and keep up.

(I didn't write this, it's just going around bulletin boards on my space for the local yokels) The funniest thing about it is it's true!

He's breaking out
06/08/2007 02:23 p.m.
What sad little boxes of intellectual assent we've had Him in.
I'm GLAD He's had enough...

Thank you, Jesus, for Hayley's testimony. It is awesome.
Thank you for the dance this morning. It too was awesome.
Thank you for the rain.

Please bless and help Willie. Draw nearer to his hurting heart. Let them both start new, renewed.

Touch the rainbows you've touched me with in a special, special way today.
I love you!

3:45 am
06/05/2007 06:35 p.m.
3:45

We (Chip and I and a few others) were in this 4 story building. We were putting on a skit as we had done many times before. It had the air of New Orleans street theatre but the audience had followed into this building. We would just be mingling and suddenly it was time and the props were there and we would make an impromptu sitcom. Always wonderful, you knew that much. The laughter, the camaraderie of a participating audience; it was a joy.
Then after a set where I'd had on white boots suddenly I wanted/needed them to be gold, the boots and some sort of leg wraps with tassels, lol. I sprayed them gold, I was sorry because though it was needed in a different scene and beautiful it didn't have the simplistic beauty of white. Anyway...
Where we'd been doing these on the 4th floor, we were now on the 3rd. You could see where the top floor (circular portion) had been moved down and the two bottom floors moved up with a smaller circle cut out in the center and covered with carpet. We did the act and went to remove one (top) layer but it was an ungainly method. For which we had a better removal once it was revealed.
Suddenly we're on the ground floor and all the floors between there and the top dome were gone. We were looking up and there was a discussion of safety in getting to the top, when suddenly this woman, with no effort at all took this older, very small lady in what looked like a toddler's swing seat (lol, just like Logan's little swing seat except white and larger) and hung the swing from a hook and she was whisked up to the top in a flash. The strength that woman had to lift her to the hook was remarkable. I oggled. Still don't know what it meant, and then I get a Daniel study from EPC regarding Nebuchenezzar and his golden idol... it was a wonderful study that brought out far more points than I'd ever realized before. The many different sounds of the music, the impact that had on mishael, azariah and hananiah... just fascinating.

Can't trust a man!
06/05/2007 01:27 a.m.
"Can't trust 'em, I tell you!" he said. "Especially the inbreds, inbred, Mama and that's all I'm saying", in response to my "Do you think Megan and Willie are getting serious?" since she asked me yet again what we think of him. We already think alot of him, just because he loves Logan so much. "Can't trust a man! None of 'em. Not me, not any of them."
Willie already asked Jarrod about getting engaged to Megan. Jarrod said he told him, Don't do it! At the first sign of weakness, it's over! Her nest is mobile, wherever her keys lay. Pretty deep for Jarrod, in fact. He's seen what Jamie did to her though. I don't know if she'll ever get over it. I don't think she'll ever really trust another man. Ever.

According to Jarrod, that's wise. "Can't trust a man". Can't even trust Logan!
He's so funny.

My son in all his 18 years of wisdom. I miss him so. He's not eating right. That worries me. Well...sigh... instead of worrying I'll just go get some stuff and drop it off with Megan. And vitamins.
God please bless and keep him and continue to work in his life. I thank you Father for the man you are making of him. But I will feed him! He can't be trusted to feed himself right.

I love you Jarrod. I kiss your cheek every morning on my computer screen and say a prayer for you. You are a beautiful child of God. I'll never let go of God's promises for you. Never.

Well those thoughts God has have been declared and sent into the atmosphere. It's an experience when God chides you in His gentlest way. Only believe. God does the work. He thinks His thoughts. He performs His actions. He is God. Alone.

I'm so glad there is a God. And I am not Him.

I am currently Peaceful
I am listening to memories of Jarrod's laughing voice
