A Braver Thing

by Scott M Pratchner

I've never seen
A braver thing
Than ants upon their path
A tireless trek
A fearless speck
That some would gladly smash

On pavement hot
A darkened spot
The magnified sun struck here
The courageous ant
Won't say "can't"
It knows no word for fear

Oh little speck
Oh wondrous dot
How we have lost our way
Show us how
You get it done
So we too, can be brave
Someday.

Ants are cool. "oh wondrous dot" is my favorite line in this down to earth poem. :) Congrats on POTD.
