Energy Food Paradox

A thick slice of watermelon
on a hot July day
when peckish between meals
any time of the year
3-4 jumbo shrimp
freshly thawed from the freezer
still coated in ice
and it’s spinach
Popeye the Sailor Man
all over again
And
as Mr. Spock would say
fascinating!
if not a little scary
able to base our adult reality
on a childhood cartoon
