As we go
the plot and script
narrative
change from day to day
no user’s manual
on many of the key issues
though plenty of advice
some which we’d rather not hear
common sense
that inner voice
most of us learn to listen to
though when convenient
still choose to ignore

While in the end
when reached the tip
of this Earthly tether
can proudly say
we did what we had to
to survive
using what was available
had working for us
at any given time
it was what it was
making it up as we go
and that’s just the way
it had to be
