Taped Field of Dreams
off TCM last night
haven’t seen it in decades
I guess
one of the privileges
of growing old
That inner voice telling me
time to watch it again
after only a previous couple of viewings
a long one
as I recall
Unlike Casablanca
losing count
somewhere past ten
even bought the DVD though
the player doesn’t work anymore
Movies are like that with me
sometimes catching a title in
the on-screen guide
that inner voice saying
I might be ready
though after recording
unable to see it through
too soon I’m afraid
Mary Poppins was a nice surprise
saw it at the theatre
as a kid
somewhere between seven and eight
1964
when it first came out
didn’t realize or maybe forgotten
merging of real life and animation
had come so far
back then
