It’s been a bad one
especially if you’re not a Winter person
though even Winter people can only take so much

Unlike some years
when we get a reprieve
and Winter proper doesn’t actually start
until December or even January
but not this year

As soon as we hit November
it was straight into the deep freeze and blizzards
and it hasn’t stopped since
we shouldn’t even be complaining
just be thankful you don’t live in Newfoundland
where’s Climate Change when we need it?

World politics strangely reflective of the weather
especially in the US…Washington
a deep freeze has set in
though today there was hint of a thaw
and warmer days ahead

The Supreme Court ruling against Donald Trump
(many of us would hesitate now to call him a President)
stating tariffs don’t constitute an emergency
thus all his related executive orders bogus

Dare we imagine that this
and the growing longer days outside
can only mean one thing for 2026
that first tickle of Spring?
and midterms not far off
