Complex issues
are difficult to write about
especially when only looking in
from the outside

And as more information
slowly trickles in
emotions start to cool
for those not directly affected
we can begin to draw
our own conclusions

Common sense dictates
firearms and mental illness
are never a good mixture
no matter the circumstances
but then
we don’t know the full story

And so for now
an entire nation
waits for answers
though as often the case
we can already conclude
none of them will suffice
nor be pleasant
