Tragedy
is just that
tragic
especially this time of year
and take your pick
it’s been a busy week
too many hungry people
losing their minds...their souls...their lives
and nowhere out there is secure
it seems

Why some of us choose
to stay hidden away
the safest place to be
though even here
no guarantee
seldom venturing out
except when necessary
secure enough provisions
to survive another day and
meditate on a better place ahead
