It’s never one thing
but a bunch
piled on top another

Rent going up $80. in March
annual pension cost of living increases
barely keeping pace

Health issues
physical and mental
where to begin?
and only one problem
per visit with the new GP

As always it will pass
and the good things in life
back in focus though
seems increasingly difficult
to attain and maintain them

Meanwhile
I prostitute myself with words
to weaken the disease
as yet to be officially identified
reassure others
similarly afflicted
they are not alone

Always in back of mind
the option is there
juxtaposed with
is it time to run for shelter?
under the sign of ER
where they will finally diagnose
what I truly am?
