My gosh!
what did we do to deserve this
beautiful weather???
July in September all over again
but without the stinging
humidity and insects

The evenings crisp
definitely jacket weather
windows wide open during the day
quickly shuttered
not long after sunset
except maybe a crack
a reminder of what’s soon
again to arrive

These dry spells good for
city folk perhaps
but as always
our hearts go to the farmers
out in the fields
tending their crops
may they as
all of us enjoy
a plentiful bounty
with harvest season
on up ahead
