Taking advantage of
the lull in temperatures
we sneak out to run errands
in the in-between
before July’s next onslaught

Went down to 10 last night
finally
some sleeping weather
yesterday and today
perfect summer days
not too hot / not too cold
a nice mixture of
blue sky and white clouds
if only all summer could be this way

And with the AC off again
we catch our breath
biding time to steel ourselves
for that next forecasted
blast of heat
a couple of days from now
