It’s a cold one out there
or maybe April just didn’t want to leave
a far cry from previous Mays
under the thumb of
climate change and Humidex
ACs already pumping out the BTUs
though there have already been
a couple of wildfires out west
all a part of the new reality

Some of us don’t mind
the cooler ones however
glad not to have put the AC in
with that false alarm
a couple of weeks ago
although rainy since then
the weather has been perfect
you might even say we enjoy
a little September in our May coffee

A nice reminder of what lies ahead
