We’ve joined a camel caravan
it seems
out here in the great dry
three wisemen
Me Myself and I pondering
are we fools to be doing this?
while other travelers
are always welcome
and so do

Together
sometimes lost
other times found
picking up pieces of history
personal and global
along the way
revealed by a
steady whirlwind that
scatters grains of sand
where every dune
holds a unique mirage
of our final destination

But for now
off to the sea of words
with its fabled El Dorado
a journey we’ve made
countless trips
as if caught staccato
in an endless time loop

The camels grow restless
perhaps sensing
something we don’t
best to pay attention then
for as other higher species
they possess a special intelligence
as camels know and
never forget
