Today Is Today and Tomorrow Is Tomorrow

by Chris Sorrenti

Sometimes I wonder about my ways
As it makes me remember the good old days
When my mind was never caught in a haze
And yet looking back know that it was

Sometimes
I want to sit down and cry
Then realize it won’t get me by
I laugh when I think of all the times
I managed to make it through
To the other side of where my mind had taken me
Completing only a small portion
Of what I really wanted to do

Build up! Build up!
Was what my heart would say
So psyching up and out
Was the order of the day
But now I know it’s not all cherry cream pie
And I’ve learned to forget about asking why?

Sitting in a calm after another mental storm
Is what I really want to do
From now on
Now more sorrow
For today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow
