A wet and warm January 1st is predicted
just to top off the yoyo temperatures
of this past month
Christmas was definitely white
preceded by a complimentary blizzard

Thanks to El Niño last year
there was no real Winter to speak off
only a few days here and there
as many as the Rideau Canal was open
how you can always tell

But the artificial Rink of Dreams at city hall
was a regularly party
to reflect the changing clime and a country
where it’s getting increasingly difficult
to realize one’s own personal dreams

And one can only dream of better days ahead
