as if it were only yesterday
I know, a cliché
but compelling just the same

the heavier stuff at night

in these parts

one of many pieces of Metal
that still stands out
if only for its
take no prisoners raunchiness
over the top Glam
When parents would go out
I’d play the album full blast
on their Fleetwood stereo
with some early air guitar
in wonderment thankful
the speakers never blew
Then in 1975
came Desolation Boulevard
which cemented the deal with this fan
a story for another day perhaps
except to say Fox on The Run
played over and over in head
kept me warm cold winter nights
walking home from an after school
part-time job at A&P
Now all these years later
my hearing is starting to go
except for the exorbitant cost
of eventually getting aids
no regrets on how
me and these ears got this far
Block Bustering all the way!
