February 20th Birthday

by Chris Sorrenti

Happy Birthday Mom
Are you still up there?
Haven’t heard from or seen you in a while
But then again I haven’t prayed
And no sign of Dad at all
Since he passed
Not sure if that’s bad or
A good thing

Have you two been seeing my postings
On Facebook?
A lot of your photos have been digitalized
Since you both crossed
But of course
You don’t need an Internet
Just have to read my thoughts
At least that’s what the mediums say

Besides
You’re probably off gallivanting
Surfing the cosmos
And beating me to the punch
Or perhaps you’ve reincarnated
As you said you might
A cat was it?
Cause all they do is
Eat, sleep, and make love

Happy Birthday Mom
See you in my dreams?

I really like the tone of this, Chris. Hope your parents are gallivanting together if they wish.
